
Tysheen Hills Scholarship Award
The Ark Church honors the life and legacy of Tysheen Hills affectionately known as “Lil Ty”. Tysheen was a 6th Grade student at Gravely Hill Middle School, recognized for his commitment to the three Cs which guided his life: Christ, Church, Community
Criteria
To qualify, one must:
- Be a rising 6th – 12th
- Must be involved in the community.
- Be a member of The Ark Church or a member in good standing with a local church.
- Parent(s) must be in good standing with the church.
- Parent(s) must be a tither
- Must present report card for the last grading period.
- Minimum GPA 2.0, if less, then a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) must be provided.
- One (1) recommendation letter from a non-family member officer (Pastor and First Lady are excluded)
- One (1) recommendation letter from a teacher or counselor from your school.
Essay Criteria:
- Must be typed.
- Must be grammatically correct.
- Minimum of three (3) paragraphs not to exceed one (1) full page.
- Must have a cover sheet including the topic/name/age/school attending.
- 10-point font double space.
TOPIC: How can churches adapt to meet the evolving needs and challenges of their communities in a rapidly changing world?

ACT UP Essay
This essay was created as a way for our youth to express themselves through written words.
Criteria:
- This essay is open to all Ark Church youth from grades 1-5.
- Must be typed.
- Must have cover sheet including the topic/name/age/school attending.
Grades 1-3 Criteria:
- Youth must have a minimum of one (1) paragraph with at least seven (7) complete sentences.
- Must be grammatically correct.
Grades 4-5 Criteria:
- Youth must have a minimum of two (2) paragraphs with at least seven (7) complete sentences.
- Must be grammatically correct.
