Hill Academy

Statement of Purpose:

We provide a place for children to learn. We give parents peace of mind by knowing their children are surrounded by a nurturing Christian atmosphere. We provide parents peace of mind by fostering a nurturing atmosphere for educational support that promotes a child’s success in school. The Hill Academy seeks to serve youth ages 5-11 enrolled in the Durham Public/Charter or Private Schools System for after-school tutoring. We incorporate stem projects and special programs.

Our goal is to impact children where they are to help them grow to reach their full potential through all available curriculum and programs so that they may develop into responsible adults. We exist to fill in the gaps in our community in the city of Durham, North Carolina. We accept it as our duty to provide a Christian-based environment conducive to intellectual, physical, and social/emotional development.

Mission Statement:

We exist as a faith-based organization serving the children and families of the metropolitan Durham community. Our purpose is to impact our community by bridging the gap through providing wrap around services that includes but is not limited to efforts such as academic outreach, tutoring programs, transportation services, pantry for food insecurities, social and emotional development for youth and adults, providing information regarding barriers to health, obesity prevention programs and emergency clothing assistance.

Our overall intention is to provide support, hope and opportunity for families in a safe and nurturing atmosphere.
